Paul Maki from the QN Podcast, returns for a viewing of episode three from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's third season, "Faith, Hope & Trick". Buffy is feeling guilty about killing Angel, making the dating scene very difficult for her, especially when fellow Sunnydale student, Scott Hope asks her out. Meanwhile, a new Slayer seems to be crashing the non-party that is Buffy's life, form of East Coast spitfire, Faith. To top it all off, a well-appointed vampire by the name of Mr. Trick also blows into town, bringing along a big, gruesome monster who's got revenge on the agenda. Coincidence? Yeah, we didn't think so either.

Please join Paul and I as we discuss the idea of friendship rings, flashbacks within dream sequences and the acting progression of a promising young girl named Eliza Dushku. Perhaps you've heard of her. Remember to listen for the preemptive countdown before starting the episode on your DVD.

Paul Maki makes a long overdue return to the podcast to discuss the second episode from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's third season, "Dead Man's Party". Buffy and her friends are trying to readjust to having her back, but no one is saying what needs to be said. Meanwhile, Joyce has found a new supportive friend in the last three months, and an ancient, cursed mask that apparently raises the dead. Isn't it pretty?

Please join Paul and I as we talk about odd character behavior, thin phlebotinums, Sunnydale home owner's insurance and the chemistry between actors Nicholas Brendon & Charisma Carpenter. Zombies and Beer Bongs and Dead Cats, oh my! Please listen for the preemptive countdown before starting the episode on your DVD.

William Bibbiani (of Geekscape, Crave Online and the California Literary Review) drops by to discuss Ti West's classy love letter to 80s' Horror, "The House Of The Devil". In the film, Jocelin Donahue plays bright and affable college student, Samantha Hughes. Sam is about to move into a new place and truly be on her own. Looking to make some extra money to achieve this dream, she takes a last minute job as a Babysitter. Once she's alone in this big, quiet house, her naive curiosity begins to uncover odd clues surrounding her employers, who may have unsettling future plans for the young girl. And it all has something to do with an ominous, lunar eclipse.

Please join William and I for our commentary as we talk about classic horror versus modern tropes of the genre, the slow burn, maintaining point of view, establishing mood and the importance of the likable protagonist. Remember to listen for the preemptive countdown before starting the movie on your DVD.
